TiE-Boston names Prat Moghe as organization’s new President

TiE-Boston, a 500+ member organization that caters to entrepreneurs with vital resources for every stage of the entrepreneurial process, and a part of the TiE-Global  (The Indus Entrepreneurs), today announced that Prat Moghe has been named to the position of President of the Boston Chapter.

In this role, he will be responsible for the overall vision and direction of TiE’s mission of fostering entrepreneurship for the growing organization.

Moghe was most recently Senior Vice President at Netezza, a leader in data analytics, when it was acquired by IBM for $1.7B in 2010. He currently leads Strategy, Products, and Marketing for IBM Netezza appliances.

Moghe has a long and accomplished record of entrepreneurism, having started his career at Bell Labs researching systems management and networking, after earning his Ph.D. from UCLA. Soon thereafter, he founded two companies: StreamCenter and Tizor (acquired by Netezza).

He has been a part of the TiE community for more than 16 years and is an active member of TiE-Angels.

TiE has a significant role to play in defining a “come-back” moment for the economy on the east coast. A challenging environment is the best time to create startups that become the rising tide. Our vision is to expand and energize our community to drive this tide and create the broadest possible impact.”

, a member of TiE-Boston Board, said, “Prat is uniquely suited for this role. As a successful serial entrepreneur, he has a good understanding of both the challenges and the opportunities entrepreneurs face in getting businesses started and then scaling them. I am personally very excited to see Prat accept this role.”
